About me:
|
I have over decade of practice experience, including 2 years as a criminal prosecutor for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, the third largest municipal law office in the country. During my time as a deputy city attorney, I prosecuted thousands of criminal cases, at both the pre-trial and trial stage. I was also a speaker at the Los Angeles Police Department, Impaired Driver Apprehension Program (IDAP) on Case Preparation and Courtroom Testimony Training, and for the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Trial Advocacy Project (TAP) in May 2000 and March 2001.
After a successful stint as a prosecutor, in 2002, I went into private practice, founding my own firm. I had nice mix of privately retained cases and cases where I was appointed through the Indigent Criminal Defense Appointments Program (ICDA). ICDA is a program through the Los Angeles County Bar Association, which provides private attorneys to represent indigent criminal defendants in the Los Angeles County Superior Courts when the Public Defender (PD) and the Alternative Public Defender (APD) are unavailable or have a conflict.
During this time, I resolved hundreds of criminal defense cases, resulting in favorable resolutions for my clients, including acquittals, dismissals, and reductions of charges. In one particular instance, I was able to secure a complete dismissal for my client who was facing significant prison time, lifetime sex registration, and a strike, for alleged lewd conduct, child molestation and indecent exposure on a minor under the age of 14 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Bellflower Courthouse.
Just prior to joining LibertyBell Law Group, I managed the Orange County office of Top Gun DUI Defense Attorney® Myles L. Berman, where I aggressively defended clients accused of DUI and other select criminal matters throughout the courts of Southern California, and was a contributing editor to the California DUI Trial Notebook . One of my proudest victories included, a complete dismissal for my client facing significant prison time and lifetime drug registration for alleged second degree commercial burglary, transportation of marijuana for sale, and possession of marijuana for sale in the San Bernardino Superior Court, Fontana Branch.
I am admitted to practice in the Central and Southern Districts of the United States District Court, in all state courts throughout California. Currently I am a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of California, California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and the California Public Defender's Association.
