Steff I am not real close but the great lakes have been going down drastically for about the last 6 or 8 years. There has been a return of the water level lately but I know how odd it is to walk out to something that was once much higher shorelines. There has been about a 75 yard decrease in Traverse City in the beaches, that's a LOT of water, since the area that was under water is now exposed it is causing some very unwanted weeds to grow there, the motel owners are not allowed to touch the weeds. I think it has gotten better also but it was nasty looking while it lasted!!
I never seen any dead fish though along the beaches though!
