There are obviously many interpretations of what people believe the bible is saying, especially when it comes to the book of revelation. I tend to believe that certain prophecies are concidered what is called "dual prophecies", or dual fulfillment prophecies. There are many examples of this throughout the bible but my intent is not to debate the point, but just express where my point of view originates. Some scholars say a dual prophecy for instance happened on two different occasions, once in the old testament, once in the new. I tend to see it on a "dual" level of one meaning is for an actual physical event, the other for a spiritual meaning. For example, in Daniel 12 when it is talking about end times, it states, "many will go to and fro and knowledge shall be increased". It could have two different meanings. One-many going to and fro means how in current society we literally can travel anywhere we want and do it in a short amount of time, and knowledge being increased is just how we've become more intelligent since that time. Second-on the spiritual side, it could mean this. Going to and fro is talking about people going back and forth between religions, demonitions etc, which we see a lot of these days, and the knowledge being increased is just knowledge of the scriptures. Both viewpoints are going on today which to me helps solidify the dual meaning. So hopefully one can see how someone could come up with those two conclusions. Now also it is important to recognize that the bible uses certain words to represent something. An example being the dragon representing the devil, the "seas" meaning multitude of people. To me that is important because i believe revelation is about the collapse of the different manmade kingdoms from before until the present collapse of our society. The reason revelation was coded was john was given insight to the coming collapse of the roman empire. If he had just come out and said the roman empire was collapsing, he probably would of been immediately killed and this book would of never made it out. Revelation 17-ch.10-"they are also 7 kings, five have fallen, one is, the other is yet to come." The five that have fallen were the egyptian, assyrian, babylonian, medo-persian, greek empires that at that time had already collapsed, the one that is was the roman empire at that time, the one to come was our current empire.

Now, how does one relate biblical text and pole shift. I'll start with Luke ch 21. vs 25. "Signs in the sun, moon, and stars, nations in anguish at the roaring and tossing of the sea". Is this sea the physical seas or the people? I understand how that could go both ways but i tend to believe a physical sea only because it's in conversation with the physical sun, moon, and stars. And we all know from this website the theories about the sun and everything else. Going a bit further to vs. 32 Jesus says that this generation(or race) will certainly not pass away, heaven and earth will pass away, but not his words. Heaven usually referring to the physical skys above us.

I believe revelation ch.6 vs 12-17 describe to me what a pole shift would be like here on earth. A great earthquake, sun turned black like sackcloth made of goathair.(now that analogy is important because that kind of sackcloth if you held it to the sun would allow a very dim light through, not completely blocking out all light. Maybe being obstructed by ash fallout?) stars falling to the earth, maybe that's debris in space we will encounter from galactic center that would appear to us as shooting stars? sky receding like a scroll, and every mountain and island removed from it's place. The key word there is EVERY. What force could move everything on this planet at once. It would have to be a shifting on the earths crust. It then goes on to say everyone hiding in caves and the rocks in the mountains. And then ch. 21 describing a new heaven and a new earth.

So what i believe is going on is this. God has allowed human kind to live by his own authority throughout history. And everytime it doesn't work. What we will see is the collapse of this current society alongside with catastrophic "humbling" events, so that mankind will finally see that Gods ways are so much better for us than we can try to create on our own. When it comes to timeframe i never put a date to it. It could be a short timeframe like a couple years, it could be a thousand. But in the end, i know if i put my faith and trust in something much greater than i, the creator of everything, i may endure hardship and even death here, but eventually every tear will be wiped from my face, there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away-ch.21 vs.4.

Howdy Steve

I do enjoy your posts Steve!

I think what you said is very feasible and well thought out, I read the bible along with other sacred texts, the time that I manage to spend in silent contemplation over matters such as these, keeps leading me back to the thought that a pole-shift will not happen.

Now, some people may (and probably will) dismiss that thought as wishful thinking, the result of a scared mind unwilling to face the 'truth'. This may or may not be so, I don't feel the need to run to the land of oz or climb up a mountain, I have a realistic need to prepare and to have land and grow my own food, but the overall feeling I get is that this world is ending, and the new world is starting, and yes it will be pretty ugly.

Maybe I am totally wrong, but if I am then I will make my peace with the creator and try and get it 'right' in my next life.

Blessings
