What do you think 2012 is?
Not just the prediction, but the idea.
is it the government, humanities murder of the earth, reptillian agenda.

you name it, we discuss it.

I'm not sure but at this point in time, I see what's coming in 2012 as a combination of many things such as failures by governments to make right decisions, our species recklessly destroying our environment, greed, as well as degrading standards in society, One example, I was listening to our ABC this morning re a discussion on bribary. It seems that 'it's ok and acceptable' depending on the circumstances. As well, I feel that our freedom of having an opinion on certain issues is being curtailed as it's no longer acceptable to speak our minds. If we don't agree with the status quo, we're either racist, homophobic or other, Don't rock the boat!
One thing I'm sure of ... something will happen sooner rather than later.

I completely agree with you, i feel like something has to happen or things a going to get very messy.
i didn't catch the ABC this morning, but that's really worrying.
i remember an interview with Nixon where Interviewer David Frost asks the question
"Are there no limits to what a president can do, even if the president wants to do something plainly illegal?, Could he do anything despite the law? Burglary? Forgery? Even murder?"

& Nixon retorts “If the president does it, that means it’s not illegal”

i know Nixon isn't the president anymore, but if he had the guts to say that, think of all the people who stand back silently and do the same.

Hello Brandelle
I should explain that the ABC mentioned is the australian one so you couldn't have heard it unless you were streaming it.
I am honestly appalled at how things that are NOT right, are now acceptable. We have quite a few examples here of late that really makes one catch a breath. You are right .... 'If a politician can do this so can I', seems to be the go.
I believe that we need to be very aware of how quick attitudes and lifestyles are changing. I don't think it matters much who's in control of any country, they're only the messenger for those who are really in control of our world.
If we keep on being aware and maintain a positive attitude we may just have a change to survive what lies ahead.
This site gives us a good start

Hi again Ineke
i should point out I'm in Australia, i thought i mentioned that?
i agree on everything, but as much as I'd love for a positive head to fix everything. Sometimes we need to ban together, that's why i joined this site.
& that's why if you could, could you please pass on the URL to anyone you think would be interested.
I'd love to have a community up and running before the manure hits the wind turbine.

p.s are you interested in building Eldorado?

- wishes

Sorry Brandelle, you probably did but when you mentioned nixon, I forgot!!! You're in Queensland? I'm in vic and probably too far away to join eldorado. I wil pass the URL on whenever I can though and hope you get lots of people to build your community.
As for wind turbines, our community is trying hard to avoid a large number of them being build too close to our town.
We've opted for solar which I believe is more suitable for our country but then ... other would disagree

it's alright and thank you for your help.
i agree with you - there are many reasons to use solar instead of wind power.

by the way how is your community moving along?
I'd love to know how to get this thing up and running)

wishes

Hello there!

I have always been a great believer of communities building for the future. And I see that your pre-requisites are all sound ones. Though I suggest that using 1 energy source is a bad idea. You need to cover as many bases as possible. Wind & Solar. If you have a running stream, use a water wheel as well. If you need water, use a bore and stream. Don't build too much on the surface as bush fires are a natural occurence in Australia, you must embrace the natural and learn to coexist with it.

If I can get my act together in the next year or at least by the start of 2012. I will have land and begin building as necessary to prepare for the worst and the best that the future can bring. Just because 2012 is coming, doesn't mean that life will not go forward and beyond it as usual. But it sure is a great opportunity to accept that life on it's current trajectory is not such a great idea and changes should be made, even if it must only be made and embraced on a community level.

Anyway... I am in Victoria now, but I think Queensland or northern NSW would be a great land to build a future on.

Let me know if I can help bring gold to the surface of Eldorado.
