Basic Pack
When organizing a survival pack it is best to choose items with multi purpose to save space.

Fire / light
- Tinder e.g - Dryer lint, Wax paper, Petroleum jelly saturated cotton balls
- Magnifying glass
- Matches
- Fire steel
- Candles
- Torch – preferably not battery powered. E.g. sun or crank

Water
- Bandana – filter
- Un lubricated Condoms – storage, Google can explain.
- Canteen
- Pot for boiling ( any metal container will do) beware poisonous metals.
- Filtration System – filter straw
- Tarp/emergency blanket – gathers water
- Straws
- Purifying tablets

Shelter
- Large Trash bag
- Para cord
- Nails
- Tent ( hoochies are great, new ones pack very small)
- Rain gear
- Thermal Underwear, Socks/ underwear
- Hats & Gloves (wool stays wet longer)
- Sleeping bag/ blanket
- Summer/Winter clothing
- Sturdy shoes, tough boots protect against snakes and last longer, hiking thongs are light weight, open and good for hiking but both have their down falls.
- Emergency blanket
- Poncho
- Sewing Kit with Needles for construction/repair of clothing.-basic
- Multitool pocket knife

Food
- Survival knife / Hunting knife
- Mess kit (cooking) – pot – utensils - pan
- Fishing kit – line – sinker – hook –bobber – reel - tackle box - fishing Net
- High Energy Snacks (good energy not lollies)

its good to familiarize your self with your pack and add better items as time goes on.
